Matthews states that he intends to give up the flight. His bodily condition is all right, but he is very .depressed at being forced to give up the flight when the end was in sight. Kay has one rib broken and is severely bruised internally, but is improving under the doctor's care. Both are being nursed at the home of a Dutch resident. The Dutch Commander-in-Chief is sending an aviator to Bali to assist in dismantling flhe machine.
