A CONFERENCE TO BE HELD. By Telegraph.—Press Associatloi Auckland, Last Night. After being "out" for several weeks, the men working in the Huirau tunnel, on the North Auckland trunk railway, about 92 miles from Auckland, resumed work yesterday. In telegraphing this information to Auckland, the Railway League's Commissioner stated that work had been resumed pending the Dominion Conference to be held next month. In addition to the discontent at Huirau, there is also trouble at Otira tunnel, .'on the Midland railway, and it is presumed that men on various railway works throughout the Dominion are appointing delegates to wait on the Government concerning their grievances. The Huirau tunnel is going through what is known as "rotten," country, and requires men of special skill. Tho present men are asking 16s per day, instead of 15s.
