The Standard states the Government has received information alleging a conspiracy has been organised at the Sinn Fein headquarters in New York to start in June simultaneous outbreaks of rebellion in Ireland, Egypt, India, and Canada. The paper adds that conspirators have been sent out to secure funds for the war chest. It is estimated to raise £'2,000,000 in America.—United Service. HANDS OFF IRELAND.
BRITISH AMBASSADOR'S WARNING. Received April 20, 5.5 p.m. New York, April 19. Sir Auckland Geddes (the new British Ambassador to the United States) has arrived. In a statement to the Press, he said Britons now domiciled in Ireland ought to stand aside and leave those living there to solve their own problems. It would also be helpful if those in other parts of the world, who are not Britons, but who are interested in Ireland, -would do likewise.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. MILITARY STRENGTH NOT RAISED.
Received April 20, 2.30 p.m. London, April 19. The War Office states it is not increasing the total of the military" forces in Ireland. The cavalry which is going replaces disbanded battalions.—United Service.
