VISIT OF THE PRINCE.
THE MAORI WELCOME. By Telegraph,—rress Association, Auckland, Last Night. Six hundred Maoris left for Eotorim by special trains to-day to take part in the welcome to the Prince of Wales. This party comprised the Northern Maoris. Another batch of three hundred Natives leave for Rotorua to-mor-row night.
WARRANTS FOR EX-SERVICE MEN. Wellington, Last Night. Tt lias been decided by the Department of Internal All'airs that travelling warrants will be granted to .nil veterans and returned sailors, soldiers, and nurses to enable them to travel to the nearest centre where there is a reception of H.R.H. the Prince of Wales, providing that the journey to and from the reception can be made on the same day. The Internal Department has remiested the Defence Department to jssiip the necessary warrants! to the above on application.
POLICE ARRANGEMENTS,
Wellington, Last Niglit. The police arrangements for the Royal tour are now complete. A detachment of ninety officers, non-commissioned officers and men will accompany the Prince on the tour of the Dominion. The detachment will he under the personal command of Commissioner O'Donovan. This body of police is slightly larger than that which accompanied the present King, when, as Duke of Cornwall and York, he came to New Zealand in June, 1901.
