WAR MEMORIALS.
NEW ZEALAND SITES. By Telejraph.—Prer: Association. Wellington, April 19. Sir James Allen states that the National War Memorials Committee has decided on the site, which is to be in Wellington. It must be selected before designs are invited, and the subcommittee is appointed to report in 21 days on the sites offering and the one which it suggests. Four battlefield memorials are to be erected, two in France, two in Belgium, at the Somme, Messines, Yprcs, and Lis Quesnov, also one at and one in Palestine. Sites have also been chosen in France and Belgium, but the committee is not satisfied with the position in the Somme field, and Sir .Tames Allen is to get it altered when he goes Home. The site preferred is between Delville Wood and High Wood overlooking Flers. All these memorials will be of uniform design. A special committee, consisting of Mr. Coates, General, Russell, Chavter, Richardson. Mr. Seddon, M.P., and the president of the U.S.A. will invite designs.
