DISTRICT NEWS.
T/IRAT/ (From Our Own Correspondent) Our district again approaches lis annual day out (the Dog Trials), and preparations are to the fore for the event which, with all our men back again, promises to be a record. Tho secretary has numerous entries for all events. The road over the zig-zag has been Improved by taking oft a c.irnor or two, and we ho.oo for further good work J'esd is plentiful, and the country is looking at Its best. Big prices aro being paid for cows and heifers, and a great many have already gone away to purchasers; up to £lB being paid for lines of heifurs. Two or three farms have changed bands lately, and outsiders are beginning to realise the possibilities of this country for rearing dairy stock. Both Parliamentary candidates have addressed the electors this week and received good hearings.
