U.S. STRIKES.
LABOR LEADERS ARRESTED. PLOT AGAINST GOVERNMENT. By Telegraph.—Pres3 Assn.—Copyright. Received April 16, 2.45 p.m. New York, April 15. A message from Chicago states twelve Labor leaders of the raihvaymen's strike have been arrested and charged with violating the Congressional Anti-Strike Act.
I'he Department of Justice's agents raided a Labor meeting to secure the leaders of an alleged Communist conspiracy aiming at the overthrow of the. Tinited States Government.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. Received April IC, 8.25 a.m. New York, April 15. Nineteen strike leaders have been arrested in Chicago, and the arrest of fifty more in other centres is anticipated. Traffic conditions have improved in the ( Wost, but New York is badly paralysed •'.owing to the stoppage of supplies of eggs, butter, milk, and othei products. The strike leaders deny that the Independent Workers of the' World or other Radical influences are behind them.—. Reuter Service.
