Tho Indies of the Church of Engtand have been working for tho past eight months making garments, otc. for a salci of work ami bazaar, which evontuated hore last week. The basaar was opened by tho Ven. Archdeacon Evans, and excellent business was done. Besides the sowing, tho stalls were stockojd with numerous articles of produce, etc., donated by the settlers of the surrounding district. The hall was decorated and the well stocked stalls gave the place quito a businesslike appearance. Tho produce stall was in charge of Mesdanies Pox and Street, the needlework stall in charge of Misses B. Andrews and Sterry, and the fancy Roods in charge of Mrs. .Tenkin and Miss Drader, whilst, tho catering was In the capablo hands of Mesdamcs Andrews, Drader and Haylock, and Misses Corbett and Woolrulge. The numerous, competitions caused quite a> lot of excitement and amusemont. T{io Indies are to be" congratulated en having secured a profit of about £l2O, which is to be used in replacing (he hangings and renovating tho Interior of the church. Whilst helping with the decoration#*, the vicar met with an unfortunate accident, narrowly escaping breaking his lee, but it is pleasing to know lie wilt soon be about, again. Our local builder, Mr. L. S. Ilart, has sold nut and Is leaving shortly for Stratford, where he has taken tip a farm. He will be very much missed, having been a. member of tho various committees for a number of years. He was always in evidence nt the dances, where ho usually acted as M.C. Mrs.; Hart, will also be missed, for she was always, a willing helper in any deserving ranse.
