THE PEOPLE'S. LAST NIGHT OF "WHEN A WOMAN SINS." A tremendous smash at the walls of liypocricy which surround the lives of many of us is given by Theda Bara, the famous screen star, in her latest superproduction, "When a Woman Sins," which attracted a big attendance to the People's last night. Playing the role .of Poppea, a notorious wanton, Miss 3ara delineates with great power and yet with touching appeal the human, lovable side of a woman whose life threads the devious paths of pleasure. The woman, though many men lay their wealth at her feet, continues to love a young divinity student. His Puritanical training, however, will not allow him to countenance her, until at last, in despair, she is about to end her life. How she finally overcomes the prejudice, and wins the love of the student provides a story of exceptional interest and dramatic power. The final screening takes place to-night.
EVERYBODY'S. MONTAGUE LOVE IN "THE HAND INVISIBLE." Admittedly the best impersonation he has yet given ojy the screen, Mr. Montague Love, in the role of Rodney Graham, the Napoleon of the steel industry, lifts the new World Film production, ''The Hand Invisible," clear above the average, and makes it one of the most notable screen dramas.of the season- In tho production, which commenced at Everybody's yesterday, Mr. j„ovc is supported by .Virginian Hammond and Muriel Ostriehe. and it is mounted on a scale worthy of the theme. Denied a son, this Napoleon of industry emulates the Napoleon of history, and divorces Ms wife, in order to re-marry. A son is born to him, but the whole of his ambitious scheme comes crashing about his ears when, a helpless and impotent paralytic, lie discovers that he is not the father of the young man who has inherited his wealth. "The Lightning Raider," Pathe's serial, is continued in the tenth episode and the programme also includes a new "Century" comedy, "A Lion Special." said to be the funniest comedy for months.
