ULTIMATUM TO THE MEN, By Telegraph.—Press Assn Copyright. Washington, April 12. A telegram from Chicago states that because Congress legislated making strikes illegal thousands of the Railway Brotherhood membership ceased work, stopping railway communication partly and in many sections completely. The United States Government has issued an ultimatum stating that all strikers will be dismissed unless they return to work immediately. The unions have not countenanced the cessation of work, in view of the action of Congress.
