valedictory. (Fro® Our Own Correspondent.) March 12. On Saturday evening the boarders and staff fareweiled Mr. and Mrs. Leslie and family (late lessees of Waitara Hotel). Mr. Boland, who presided, made remarks of the way Mr. and Mrs. Leslie had conducted the hotel. Mr. -Smith, on behalf of the gathering, presented Mrs. Leslie with a dressing case, Mr. Leslie a pipe, and Arnut Leslie a cigarette OioMfr, \vhich, he hoped, would help to show the high esteem in which the recipients were held. Mr. Leslie suitably responded on behalf of himself and family. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie leave for the south on Tuesday on holiday before returning to Auckland.
