STRATFORD.

The annual meeting of the Stratford Returned Soldiers' Association will be held in the Parish Hall on April 26 at S p.m., when a number of very important questions affecting returned soldiers will come up for discussion, and a move will be made in the direction of forming a Land Bureau for the purpose of assisting discharged soldiers to get on the land. New applications for enrolment are still being received by the Registrar of Electors lor the Stratford district, and when the roll closes at the end, of the week there will be very few persons entitled to vote who will have missed their opportunity of enrolment. The shortage of' benzine has been keenly felt by many people whose business takes them into the country, as they have found it practically impossible to obtain the precious fluid. A small quantity arrived in Stratford last week, but it was sold out in a few hours at a case a time, and many missed altogether. Another consignment arrived to-day, but the amount is wholly inadequate for the requirements of the district.
