Tiie Attorney-General said Mr. Reid spent nearly the whole of his life in the public service, being appointed in ISBS. The Attorney-General then made a feeling tribute to the late Mr. Morrison. who had been taken from their midst in the full vigor of life. His advancement to the. position of King's Counsel had, been recognised as a worthy reward for singular industry and ability. He was an authority on land law and descent, and also company law. Mr. Morrison was largely responsible for the revision of the Companies Act, 1903, and the Imperial Parliament later adopted his principle in the formation of similar legislation.
