SAXTON'S BUSH.
QUESTION OF PRESERVATIONA special meeting of the Frankley Road Settlers' Ai-sociation was held on Friday evening last to consider matters connected with the proposal to set aside. a portion of the property recently acquired by the Government as a public reserve. It was reported that only a small portion of the area was to be preserved and the meeting resolved to enter an emphatic protest against the destruction of the bush'on the property, especially that portion on the western side of the ITuatoki stream, and Messrs. Krcthcy, N. Allen, and .Moore wore appointed a, committee to deal with saiae. It was furiher decided that with the object of interesting the Borough Conn cil in the preservation of the Native bush growing on the property the association invite..the Mayor and Councillors to visit the property at a time and date the council may appoint. It was also decided to ask the YogMtown association to take action in *he matter.
