IMPERIAL PURCHASES. NEARLY SIX MILLION CARCASES STORED. The total payments made to date by the Imperial Supplies Department for New Zealand produce on account of the British Government amount to £133,091,240. The total shipments of • meat since operations commenced in March, 1015, have been:—2,885,043 quarters of beef, 12,299,080 carcases of mutton, and 13,I 025,510 carcases of lamb. The meat in store on March 15, 1920, for which no space lias been allocated in overseas steamers, w-as:—North Island, 3,770,920 carcases; South Island, 1,967,117; total in COlb carcases, 5,738,040. STORED CHEESE, 274,411 CRATES. Of cheese, operations in regard to which commenced in November, 1915, the number of crates shipped to date is 2.023,883. The cheese in store awaiting shipment on account of Imperial Government on I March 29, 1920, was:—North Island, 220,813 crates; South Island, 47,598 crates; total in crates, 274,411. In all 1,707,430 boxes of butter have been sent away on Imperial Government account since November, 1017. The butter in store, advanced against and awaiting shipment on account of the Imperial Government on March 29, 1920, was:—North Island. 73,524 boxes; South Island, 3958; total, 77.452. A total of 774 tons of scheelite lias been shipped to date. WOOL OPERATIONS.
