SOLDIER FORESTERS.

„ WELCOME HOME SOCIAL, Lieut.-Colonel Weston presided at the welcome home social tendered by Court VVaireka last night to the soldier brethren who have returned from the war. The attendance was very satisfactory, over 100 sitting down to supper. The principal toust was that of the "Returned Soldiers," proposed by P.C.B. Bro. Foote. This was responded to by the chairman, and Bros. Humphries, Hutchings, and Avery. It was mentioned that the Court numbered 500 members, and of these 100 had enlisted for active service, and 25 had "gone west." In acknowledging the toast, the speakers spoke in appreciative terms of the work of the ladies, and also tbe assistance of the Court and kindred societies. PC.R Bro. C. Harvey proposed "The District Officers," .which was responded to by D.C.R. Bro. 11. Ward and S.D.C.R. Bro. J. Andrews. "Our Oldest Member" was a tribute by Bro. R. C. Hughes to Bro. T. Williams, one of the veterans of the local Court, who has always taken a keen interest in the Toresters. The toast list was a lengthy one, and was interspersed with songs, dances, etc., to which the following contributed: Bros. Goslin, Patterson, Andrews, Hutchings, Vealc, Howlett, and Farmer. "Bros. Perry and Elliott were the accompanists. The evening, which was a pleasant one,, was brought to a close by the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
