ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A FOOTBALL FATALITY. A distressing fatality occurred in the League match played at Greymouth recently between AddingtOn (Christchurch) and combined ICohlnoor and by which a player named R. M. F. Hill (Addington) was mortally injured. During the second spell' Hill jumped to intercept a high pass, but fell beneath another player. At that time the game was stopped for an infringement of the rules. Hill sat up and attempted to continue. He was not noticed again for several seconds, when he was seen to be on the ground. He was conscious and was carried off the field and a doctor called. The irame proceeded, but was stopped close on time when it was made known that Hill had died. His last words were: "I got ft Inasty knoeW." Deceased was *22 years of age, and leaves a widowed mother.
