ODDFELLOWSHIP.
THE DOMINION CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. At the conference of the New Zealand Branch of the Independent Order of Oddfellows. Manchester Unity, it was resolved that the special levy on members throughout the Society for war members' relief purposes be discontinued, in so far as it affects deficiency lodges and those lodges that contributed 11 per cent, of the 1915 surplus to the war members' relief fund. Dealing with claims for soldier sickness, the Conference resolved that, without excluding the discretion of the directors to admit deserving eases, no new claims for sick pay or contributions while on active service beyond New Zealand will be admitted after uJne 30th. The Conference discussed the deficiency lodge question, and a motion raising the percentage of surplus to be contributed from l'/i per cent, to 2 1 /.. per cent was carried by 27 votes to 7. The deficiency lodge fund is to be administered by the directors in such a manner as they, on the advice of the actuary, may determine. Lodges whose assets are less than the value of 17s in the £ liability may apply to the Society to have their cases considered.
