SINN FEINISM.
ITS GROWTH IN AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyrlsht. London,' April 5. ' Mr. Alexander Leeper, of Melbourne, in a letter to the Spectator, descrl'ws the growth of Sinn Feinism in Ausirali;.. He declares that the Roman Catholic Irish are politically the beat organised and most united section of the community, and, through working in alliance' 1 with the Laborites, they have become a ; powerful factor in Federal and State politics. They have acquired great influence over the Australian Press. Few leading papers venture to speak of the danger to" the Empire which the organised Irish vote involves. Even statesmen do not desire to say in public what they say privately of the movement. Some newspapers during the* elections ivere stirred out of their reticence and spoke frankly of the menace. Mr. Leeper suggests that the Irish Church should send out a delegation to Australia and New Zealand to enlighten the people in reference to the true character of the Irish self-determination. — Aus.-N.Z.
