Stainton (hon. secretary). Apologies for absence ivcre received from Messrs W A. Colli* iuirt W\ C. Weston The curator (Mr. W. AV. Smith) reported that during the mouth the staff had been employed chiefly in mowing •.nd dealing the terraces and oval of the ■•ports grounds and renovating and repairing where required. The Sports wounds being again under the Board's charge it was imperative that the board should obtain a large lawn mower and horse if the work was to be perfectly done.

In reply to the Star Football Club's application for the use of the sports grounds Rt the Park, and for power to charge for admission to matches, a favorable reply will be sent, subject to the understanding that admission will be. charged for club matches only, and that the Board makes its own arrangements m regard to larger matches.

Mrs. Burgess intimated that in connection with the £IOOO effort, a children's function is being arranged for the afternoon following the Prince's visit. Hie Kawaroa Park Committee are to be asked to co-operate with the Board so as to ensure a successful gathering. A vote of thanks was accorded the Taranaki Amusements, Ltd., for a donation of the picture takings on Good Friday night. These amounted to £2l 13s (id. A vote of thanks was also passed to Mr. Frederics and his fel-low-workers who helped to ensure the success of the concert on March 31, by which £25 was raised.

It was pointed out that the present Brirough grant of ,€1(30 still remained the same as for many years past, though the cost of procuring laboi had increased tremendously. It was decided to apply to the Council for an increase ia the erant to £250, 6

Mr. Ford intimated that he had received information that a pair of white swans could be secured on application to tlie Mayor of Masterton. It was decided tc make inquiries in this direction. Mr. Short Was appointed overseer for the month .
