UNIVERSITY BOAT RACE. By Telegraph—-Press Assn.— I *>pyr!cht London, Details of the University boat race show that record crowds were assembled. Cambridge struck the water first, bi;t Oxford, using their weight to good advantage, soon held a small load, but at Beverley Brook Cambridge led by nearly a length. Oxford spurted and mluced the distance to half a length at the mite post. The positions were the same at Hammersmith Bridge. Hitherto the advantage of station had assisted Cambridge who soon Increased their lead tu two lengths. Oxford took the same water but wero unable to make any knpression, both hugging along the Surrey shore closely. Cambridge led by three lengths till opposite Duke's Meadows, where Oxford shot, across for the shelter of the Middlesex hank and tried their utmost to redueo liie lead, hut Cambridge quickly folded, and when across still maintained the same lead Oxford repeatedly spurted after Baru«' Bridge, hut fruitlessly.
