TARANAKI TOURNAMENT. Entries close to-night for the Tara.ii.iltl tournament, which opens on the Ne-v Plymouth Club's links on Saturday. Entries will be received by Messrs. I. Paton W 'I Bobertshaw, and J. Austin. tip to last night very good entries hare come to hand, indicating that the number of competitors will constitute a record. THE AUCKLAND CLUB. The season was opened at Auckland on Sntiirday.j.iuwL in the evening the annual meeting of th> .'Auckland Club was held. A matter of. general interest was brought up by the president (Mr. W. B. Colbeck), who said the Question .of. discontinuing the practice of running Sheep on the links had been considered by the committee. The sheep were kept, firstly for revenue, and secondly some held that without them It was impossible to keep the links in order.
