LAWN TENNIS.
THE BRITISHERS DEFEATED. WIN FOR OLLIVIER AND PEACOCK. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. With the exception of the occasion when the Davis Cup finals were played in New Zealand there has perhaps never been a better tennis doubles match played in the country than that between tne English Davis Cup men and the New Zealand representatives, played at Thorndon Courts to-day. The English representatives were Beamish and Lowe and the New Zealanders were Geoffrey Ollivier and J. C. Peacock. The New Zealanders won a well-deserved victory by three sets to two, o—3, 7—5, 7—9, 3—C, o—l.
