Ilobson, senior vice-presi-dent of the Associated British Chambers of Commerce, giving evidence before the War Wealth Committee, on 17th March, expressed the opinion that it was only ii ir.at.ter of time when there would be a, large_ drop in prices of commodities. Opposing the proposed levy on wealth, he dwelt on the impossibility of ascertaining what prices would be in two ana a half jews 1 time. Traders were withdrawing fioin business in consequence of the existing inflation, thereby lessoning competition and contributing to the present high profit making.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
