PALMERSTON NORTH PROPOSAL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston North,-Last Night. Great interest centred in a proposal to raise an additional £112,000 for a tramway scheme in Palmerston North, and the issue resolved itself into a contest of trams versus good roads and "buses. The loan was defeated by 117 votes.
