A CONSOLIDATED SICK FUND. V j GRAND LODGE FOR DOMINION. ' By Telepapl].—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At the Grand Lodge of New Zealand, (North Island), U.A.0.D., the following motion was adopted:—"On and after December Ist, 1!)20, there shall be a fund, to be called the Grand Lodge Consolidated Sick Fund, out of which shall be payable all sickness benefits to the members of Lodges as constituted under these rules. All sick funds at present held by Lodges shall form part of this fund, and shall be controlled by the Grand Lodge accordingly, and for the effectual carrying out of this object it is provided that the present Lodge sick funds shall be transferred to and vested under the Grand Lodge trustees, and by them placed to the credit of the Grand Lodge 1 Consolidated Sick Fund." A communication containing the following resolutions was received from the Otago Grand Lodge, which, with the Canterbury Grand Lodge is at present affiliated to an Australian body: (1) "That the Grand Lodge take steps to sever its connection with the Lodge of Australia, with a view to forming a Grand Lodge for New Zealand." (2) "That the Grand Lodge approves of the principle of a Grand Lodge for New Zealand." Bro. Thompson moved, and it was decided, "That this Grand Lodge assembled affirms the principle of a Grand Lodge for New Zealand, and requests the executive to bring about the desired effect." Bro. Steel (Grand Lodge of Otago) addressed lelegates on the matter of Advisory Boards, and contended that they were very useful in advising Grand Trustees as to the investment of funds. Following his address it was decided to set up Advisory Boards In such centres as the executive (Hem advisable on the same lines as those worked on in Otago.
