PRINCE'S CANADIAN RANCH. By Telesraph—Press Assoclntlon. Wliakatane, March 23. Iji reference to the Prince's purchase of a ranch in Canada, #Ji\s. J. Eivers, an old resident lie.e, made the following statement to a Wliakatane Press reporter: —The Prince of Wales just lately bought from a member of my family a ranch called the Beddingfield estate, Alberta, Canada. It is one of the oldest ranches, having been taken up in 1883. It consists of IfiOO acres of first-class land freehold and leasehold. The Prince intends to stock it with pure-bred Shorthorn cattle, pure bred Shropshire sheep, and thoroughbred horses from one of his farms in England, someone from the ranch having been sent to England to select the most suitable, animals. Exservice men, both Imperial and Canadian, will 'be employed on the ranch, and here the Prince hopes occasionally to make his home. COACHBUILDERS' DISPUTE. Wellington, March 23. No agreement has been reached on the question of wages in the coarhbuilders' dispute before the Conciliation Council to-day, and the matter was referred to the Arbitration Court. Other points were settled at the Dominion Conference at Auckland. FURNITURE TRADE DISPUTE. Dunedin, March 23. Before the Conciliation Council to-day, complete arrangements were arrived at in the furniture trade dispute. The Wellington award was aocepted in all points. Conditions and wages for females were deferred until a new dispute was created. INDIAN CHARGED WITH THEFT. Taumarunui, March 23. Nundi Ram, a native of Calcutta, was arrested on Sunday morning for breaking into the Waimarino railway station and stealing ,Cll. He was found to be wearing a suit of clothes and a shirt stolen from Fantliorpc's shop at Taumarunui. When asked where he got the clothes he replied, "God gave them to me." The accused was remanded till Saturday to see if his finger prints corresponded with those on Fanthorpe's plate glass window and Msh register.
