_=———> 'ANNUAL SWIMMING SPORTS, The annual swimming sports in connection with the New Plymouth Boys' : High School took place at the Municipal uaths yesterday. The cold wind which blew from the west all day made conditions anything but pleasant, and late in the afternoon a heavy shower sent all "except the swimmers. seeking what shelter could be found. Notwithstanding these disabilities, the programme was carried out in. its entirety, and there were some excellent races- The 200 yards race was a stern contest. Four boys faced the starter, but only three finished, and the race was a contest between Foden and B- Boon, tlie former winning by a narrow margin. Boon held the lead until well into the last length, when Foden came up with -ft challenge which Boon was not able ftave off. Tl)e high and corfu diviag t rtodueed some good work, while walking the greasy | boom afforded a great deal of amusement The inter-form relay race (100 yards) was won by Form VIB. Mr. \V. H. Moyes was starter, Mr. A. R. Ryder marksman, Messrs. C. L. Bottrill, R. H. Rockcl and R- W. D. Robertson judges, and Mr. N. Day official recorder and Mr. N. Christiansen judge of the] diving events.
