PROTEST AGAINST THEIR PAY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Niq-lit. At a meeting of the North Canterbury i J ost and Telegraph Officers' Association, the following resolutions ivere passed:—(l) That the salary allotted to tho Secretary of the.Department and the administrative officers is entirely inadequate to the responsibility of the position, and in comparison v.'ith those paid to managers, etc., in commercial concerns is almost farcical. ' The salary paid to the General Manager of Railways should lie taken for the purposes of comparison, and we consider a substantial addition should be immediately made; (■>) that the minimum salary allotted any executive oflieer be not less than ,C3?.0 per annum, or at least .t'iiO per annum above the maximum paid to the rank and file.
