LOWER INTEREST SUGGESTED. By Telegraph.—Prcis AsSn.—Copyright. Received March 23, 8 p.m. Washington, March 20. Mr. D. F. Houston, Secretary to the Treasury, advocates a reduction in the rate of interest on American loans to the Allies from 5 per cent, to 4} per cent, and a deferment of the payment of interest for three years. He also suggests the conversion of loans into bonds with a. currency of twelve years, deferred interest to be compounded.— Aus.-N.Z- Cable Assn.
