The recent Licensing Committee election in Stratford will cost the Borough Council and the County Council £ll3 between them, the share of each being in proportion to the revenue received from license fees. ■Mr. C. T. Read, at present at Masterton, has been appointed to succeed Mr. fi. M. Peattie as stationmaster at Stratford, and will take up his duties shortly. Mr. Peattie goes to Wanganui as chief goods clerk. Commercial stationery i.nd all the principal oflice requirements are stocked by H. J. Hopkins, bookseller and stationer, Broadway, Stratford.
