The report of the Inter-State Commission oil the sugar industry has been tabled i*i the Houso of Representatives. It shows the value of sugar lands in Queensland and New South Wales to be £5,M1,486; the capital invested in mills and machinery, £4,500,000; and the employees number 6,600. The report recommends that the importation of refined sugar, other than for manufacture for export, be prohibited. The House aprroved of the sugar agreement, necessitating a new agreement with the Colonial Sugar Companv, —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
