KAIMATA. (Prom A Correspondent). Our local school children were taken to the Ngainotu beach on Friday last for their annual picnic, which was favored hy glorious weather. Quite a good number toolc advantage of the excursion. The children greatly enjoyed their "dip In the briny." Owing to other attractions, It was not possible to have the usual races. lira. Caimeron, our populwr school mistress, Invited the mothers to the school on Tuesday to see the prizes given our. Each child who attended school last year received a book recording to merit, even the tiniest not being forgotten, and all shared In the races, which were conducted by Mrs. Cameron, Mr. Capper and .Mr. Dobson, Afternoon tea was then handed round, a bountiful supply of home-made danties being available lor all. At the conclusion, Mr. Capper thanked Mrs. Csmevon on behalf of the parents for the great Interest she has always taken In the school, and congratulated her on the excellent report and tone of the school. Cheers were thon given to the commissioners, and to Mr. Mackle, who had donated sweets, which were merrily scrambled for. On Saturday,' the 20th, the Sunday School picnic Is to be held In Mr. Bocock's paddock, a. nice little sum having been collected for prizes. Given a fine day, the picnic should be a huge success from the kiddles point of view.
