MILK POWDER PROSPECTS.

THE DUTCH GLUT. In view of the adverse reports recently published in the New Zealand Press, to the effect that there is a glut of milk powder, chiefly from Holland, on the English market, Mr. W. Goodfellow, manager of the New Zealand Co-opera-tive Dairy Co., Ltd., was questioned on the matter. He stated he cabled Messrs. R. and \V. Davidson, Ltd., of Glasgow, on the matter a few days ago, inquiring as to the market price and prospects for the coming season of spray powder, and mentioning that adverse reports had been received to the- effect that there was a glut of Dutch powder. Mr. Goodfellow received the following reply:—"Dutch cylinder process £3 15s ( £75 per ton), supplies plentiful; American spray scarce, £7 ( £l4O per ton); Trufood, English, £8 ( £l6O per ton); Australian, £7 10s (£1»0 per ton). Prospective demand favorable." Mr. Goodfellow said there was apparently an accumulation of Dutch powder of poor quality in England, which was not likely to seriously affect the market for the spray process product to be manufactured in New Zealand.
