CARE OF CHILDREN'S TEETH.
THE OFFICER IN CHARGE RESIGNS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, March 17. Colonel T. A. Hunter, who was head of the New Zealand Dental Corps during the war, was a few months ago appointed Chief Dental Officer to the Education Department for tho purpose of inaugurating a scheme of dental inspection and treatment of school children. It is understood that Colonel Hunter has now announced to the New Zealand Dental Association his intention of refining the post. There was some criticism in the dental profession at the time over the manner of Colonel Hunter's appointment. One of the stipulations advertised in calling applications for tho position was that it would be an advantage if the applicant was under middle age. It was contended by a number of those who publicly criticised the appointment that the successful applicant did not comply with that condition, and that the Public Service Commissioner, by publishing such a stipulation, had barred other dentists from applying.
