THE PRIME MINISTER.

SEVERAL DAYS' REST NECESSARY. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) Wellington, Last Night. The official bulletins have made very light of Mr. Massey's operation, but a medical report made this afternoon indicates that the period of convalescence is going to he longer than wan anticipated. The operation, which was the removal of a cyst from the neck, was fairly extensive, though not serious, and Mr. Masscy is not likely to be out of the hospital for ten days yet. His medical attendant considers that rest is necessary at present, and the Prime Minister is not able to attend to public business. His interview with the railwaymens' executive is one of the matters that must stand over.
