(From Our Own Correspondent). The'successful applicaut lor the position of librarian to live Borough Library was Mrs. J. Wj'Uie, There were 1;; applications. The electric light lias been playing tricks on some of the circuits lately. On Tuesday night last it suddenly went out, coming to life again about ten minutes afterwards, going out just as suddenly again. Oa Wednesday night, whilst the "Dandies" were trying to pack up, out it went again. At a ■committee meeting of the North Taranaki Horticultural Society this week the following judges and stewards were appointed to act at the forthcoming show:—Judges: Pot plants, Mr. V. Davies; cut blooms, Mr. Cattley; children's flower classes, Mesdames A. Alexander and Newton King; farm and garden and school classes, Messrs H. King and B. F. Longstaft; home-made bread, etc., Mesdames H. Leppcr and Burgess; fancy work, Mrs. Sheen; school work, Mr. W. H. Dempscy; preserves, Mesdames Lepper and Burgess. Stewa/ds:—Pot plants, Mrs. A. Andrews and Mr. E. Hutchinson; cut blooms, Mesdames Corbett and L. Birdling; children's flower classes, Miss Tate and Mm. Wyllio; farm and-garden, Messrs E. T. Hicks, G. V. Tate, E. H. Pigott, and Leo. &son; home produce, preserves, etc., Mesdames W. T. Joll and Trim; fancy work, Misses Marlow and M. Gavin; juvenile (school; section, Bev. F. D. Lawrence. The "Dandies of 1920" played here .on Wednesday evening to only a fair house, probably because of inadequate publicity.
