A taxi collided with a little girl in Broadway this morning, but the radiator carried the child along until the vehicle Nvas stbpped, thereby preventing any injury. There was an exodus this morning of patrons of the turf bound for Opunake, all sorts of petrol propelled vehicles being pressed into the service. s Mr. E. S. Breeze (previously of Auckland) has taken up duty as chief clerk at the Stratford goods shed in succession to Mr. H. Beauchainp, transferred to Hawera. THE ICING'S CINEMArSTRATFORD At the King's Cinema at Stratford tomorrow night, the Paramount comedydrama, "Here Comes the Bride," starring John Barrymore, will be screened. "Here Comes the Bride" is a play of matrimonial mix-ups done to a brisk comedy tune. It is crammed with laughs, and John Barrymore appears in the full light of an excellent comedian in the stellar part. SPECIAL ATTRACTION FRIDAY NIGHT. "WHITE HEATHER." London's famed Drury Lane nexer turned out a greater attraction than "The White Heather," a remarkable sensational melodrama that will be screened at the King's Theatre, Stratford, on Friday night. Purely a melodrama, "The White Heather" was written by Cecil Raleigh and Henry Hamilton, and was first produced on the stage at the famous Drury Lane Theatre, proving one of the greatest spectacular productions ever offered at that home of the drama's most stupendous spectacles.
