In the House of Commons, replying to a series of questions in reference to the recent riots at Fiji, Mr. Amery stated that 12S men and 14 women had been convicted of riotous behaviour and oii others had been committed for trial or were on remand on charges of wrecking bridges, etc. An armed guard of 50 men was sent from New Zealand to assist in the maintenance of order, but did nor, fire on anybody nor cause any casualties. The, Governor had appointed a Commission to investigate the question of the cost of living and wages for Indians. —Imperial Service.
