INCOME TAX. By Telegraph.—rress Assn.—Copyright, London, March 12. The Daily Chronicle states that the Royal Commission on income tax recommends that within the Empire the double income tax shall be abolished. It is proposed that henceforward the tax on the profits of trading concerns should be paid at the highest leviable rate in Britain or the Dominion, tat no longer in both. WAR MEMORIAL FOR JEWS. London, March 12. Over £IIO,OOO has hitherto been raised toward the million for the Jewish War Memorial. A special appeal has been addressed to Jewish communities in the Dominions. —Reuter.
