Hughes is conferring with representatives of the sugar industry with the object of arranging a three years' agreement under which the rates for raw sugar will be fixed; also a minimum wage for workers. Producers are asking for an increase in the rate of raw sugar from £2l to £3O Cs 3d a ton.
