NEW RECORD AT CERISTCHURCH. By Telejrnph.—Press Assn.—Copyrlfht. Ohristchuvch, Last Night. The record prices recently received for hides were exceeded at the Christchurch sales to-day. Competition was keen, and the second line submitted, a prime ox hide, reached 24id—a record figure. A considerable proportion went over 23d per lb, and calf skins realised up to 44d for secondary quality. The hides were largely secured by exporters. Horse hides made up to 20s *6d. As the sale progressed prices did not alter materially, except that calf skins touched 44 id. SALE IN MELBOURNE. By Telesrnph.—-Press Assn— Copyright.
