INFLUENZA.
1 CASES IN TARANAKI. THE LATEST RETURNS. The official bulletin for the week ffM- i ing at noon on Monday, March 8, shows that in that period the following cases of infectious diseases were notified in the Taranaki health district;— .Scarlet fever, Taranaki 1. Diphtheria, Patea 1. Pneumonia, Hawera, I Measles, Stratford 1. The influenza cases were distributed amongst various hospital districts a* follows:
Taranaki, 02— All mild, .except one severe at Waitara. Eighty-five of tbt mild cases occurred at Opunake Stratford, 10 mild. Pa tea, 32 mild. Hawera, 125 (95 at Hawera borough) —All mild, except two pehumooic and flno severe at Hawera, one severe at Eltham, three pneumonic at Kaponga, and one pneumonic at Manaia.
CASES AT TIMARUi By Telegraph.—Preta Association, Timaru, Last Night. Cases of influenza continue to be reported. There were eighteen toflUy. In consequence of a number of Ims* ployees being sick the Pareora Works have closed for ft week.
