PRISONERS ESCAPE
DASH AWAY IN A CAR. THE POLICE IN PURSUIT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. \Vhakatanc, Last Night Standing handily near the Whakatane police Btation this morning the chief constable's motor car attracted the attention of two prisoners working in the grounds, and while the constable was bupy inside as clerk of the court, they seated themselves in the car and vanished.
When they and the car were missed Inter, the telephone ' was set working, and the runaways were located speeding to Te Puke. 'The assistant constable is now in pursuit.
