INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent). March 9. There was a very poor attendance at the public meeting called by the Mayor for the purpose of discussing the erection of a memorial to soldiers who fell in the late war. Mr. J. Sutherland explained the object of the meeting, and What had been suggested. On the motion of Mr. F Spurdle it was decided that a committee be formed to go into the matter of erecting a monument and report to a subsequent meeting. The committee appointed consisted of Messrs W. E. Percival, A Corkill, J. Winfield, J. Sutherland, Rev! Bmsley, and E. Alson. Mrs. Evans, of the Ladies' -Patriotic Society, stated they had £ll 4s in hand,' which they would hand over
