UNION OF CHURCHES.
THE VIEWS OF METHODISTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, March 8. The Methodist Conference discussed the question of a union with the Presbyterian and Congregational Churches. The President, the Rev, Mr. Laws, said that the figures showed that a good deal of indifference existed. It might develop into opposition it' matters were unduly luirried. The Conference must be sympathetic and keep the. door open and go on vr\j its work. Resolutions were earied unanimously, expressing regret at the unsatisfactory vote in the Presbyterian OlniTCfl, reaffirming the conviction .of the desirability of church union and appointing committees to further the movement A further resolution expressed the opinion that the tihie was not. yet ripe ! for the joint training of students for the ministry. The Rev. Mr. Elamdres, Messrs. Bellringer and Oldham were appointed to represent the New Zealand Methodist Church at the world conference on faith and order.
