JERSEY BREEDERS.
FIELD DAY NEXT FRIDAY. A special meeting of the New Plymouth branch of the New Zealand Jersey Breeders' Association was held on Saturday afternoon, Mr. H, B. Lepper presiding, and there were about a dozen members present. Mr. E. Griffiths was nominated the brunch's member of the New Zealand CouncilThe question of holding a Jersey field day was considered. Mr- Jones* (Bell Block) giving an outline of the proceedings in connection with a day held l>y the Stratford branch. It was then agreed to have a field day on Fridav next, and the oifer of Mr. Sahvay to have the day at his farm was accepted with appreciation. A suh-committep was ?.et up to make the arrangements for catering. Other arrangements were made, and it was reported that Mr. Ilv. Watson, of Tai Tapu, had consented to give some demonstration. It was decided to extend an invitation to the function to the hoys of the rural classes at the High and Technical Schools snd to the senior pupils of primary schools in the surrounding districts, also to the members of the Stratford branch, the president of the A. and P. Society, and members of the Press. The programme arranged included demonstrations in the judging of Jersey bulls, cows, heifers, and calves. All rhe demonstrations will be from life, and several members offered to bring stock for the purpose. Mr. W. A- Officer was elected a member of the branch. II w.i:> decided to ask the A. and P. fociefy in future to supply ribbons to the y.h.c. h.c. and c. animals in the various classes, and that it be compulsory for them to lie paraded.
