THE PRINCE OF WALES.

VISIT TO STRATFORD. ARRANGEMENTS FOR RECEPTION. (From Our Own Correspondent). , Stratford, Last Night. A representative public meeting was held in the Borough Council Chambers to-night for the purpose of making arrangeements in connection with the visit of the Prince of Wales to Stratford on April 23. The Mayor (Mr. J. W. McMillan) presided. The Mayor said that what was principally wanted was to give everyone an opportunity of seeing the Prince. With this object in mind he would suggest that the following programme should be carried out:— Tiiat there be a guard of honor, composed of returned soldiers, at the railway station; that after inspecting them the Prince should be taken to a raised platform erected on the site of the. new post office, where a welcome should be held. Here, he suggested, a space should be set aside for school children, who would sing the National Anthem. The Mayor thought that afterwards the Prince might be asked to unveil the Roll of Honor in the Municipal Buildings. There would be no speechmaking. The Prince could then be taken into the, Borough Council Chambers for the purpose of meeting mothers of soldiers. That was all that could be done in the 13 minutes at their disposal. This programme was adopted. The meeting decided to ask the Borough Council to vote a sum of £IOO towards the expenses in connection with the visit. This would bear a £ for £ subsidy from the GovernmentOn the suggestion of the Rev. C. W. Howard, it was decided that the Prince should be presented with an album of views suitably bound and inscribed instead of an address. Owing to the difficulty of procurin" a band it was decided that the service! of an orchestra should be obtained. The Mayor said that entertainment would be provided for the children. The following executive committee was appointed: The Mavor and Messrs R. Masters, M.P.. D. Malone, W P Kirkwood, and E. H. Young. The town clerk was appointed secretary. Sub-committees were set up to attend to the arrangements.
