CENTENARY OP THE CHURCH. CELEBRATIONS ARRANGED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. At the Methodist Conference, it was agreed to amalgamate the Otago and Southland districts into one district, to be known as the Otago-Southland district. Celebrations in connection with the approaching centenary of the introduction of Methodism and the establishment of the first Methodist Mission in New Zealand was considered.- It was decided that the 1922 Conference be a centenary conference. The Centenary Celebrations Committee's report, which was approved, contained proposals for suitable religious services and public gatherings throughout the whole Dominion. It was also agreed that on the Sunday nearest June Bth, the date of the first Methodist service in New Zealand, thanksgiving services be held in churches, and special gatherings during the week following. The centenary thanksgiving fund of £40,000 is to be allocated as follows: Superannuation Fund £XSOO, Theological College £BOOO, Church building and Loan Fund £BOOO, Foreign Missions £SOOO, Wesley Training College £3OOO, Deaconess' work £3OOO, local preachers' work £IOOO, memorial church at Kaeo £ISOO, working expenses £I2OO, and unallotted £SOO.
