Dr. Hassell, medical superintendent at tlie Mental Hospital, Porirua, is retiring after 32 years of valuable service with the department. The Right Hon. Sir Joseph Ward and Lady Ward left by the Riverina for Sydney yesterday, to spend five or six weeks' holiday in Australia. Mr. Hugh W. Dent, secretary of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Coirtpany, Limited, Hamilton, and late actingmanager of the New Zealand Dairy Association, Limited, has resigned. Mr. J. P. Firth, headmaster of Wellington College, is retiring at the end of the year. Air. Firth has been associated with the college for the past 28 years, during 22 of which he has occupied the position of headmaster. The first draft of the proposed changes in the present stalling of Methodist home mission stations includes the following: —Midhirst, W. T. Hooper; Okato, C Aher; Douglas, A. L. Wittieford. The London National News states that it has been airranged that Prince Albert will become (iovernor-General of an important Dominion after the Prince of Wales concludes his Imperial tour in 1021. Mr. A. E. Washer, President of the Egmont Show, Messrs R. Dingle (President) and A. Ban- (secretary) of the Stratford Show, were visitors to the New Plymouth Show yesterday Mr ('. R. Stannard, secretary of the Egmont Show, was present on the first day.
